About Yogi Institute

Yogi Institute Philosophy

The Yogi Institute philosophy is that some form of yoga not only CAN be practiced daily but should be practiced daily to live a healthy, fulfilled and joyful life of wellness. This is why the weekly schedule is the way it is, there are physically, and mentally challenging practices and there are relaxing practices that help us soothe our nervous system and connect more deeply to our hearts and higher self. Having the awareness and understanding of these practices helps YOU to know what type of yoga practice you need at that time.

When looking at the traditional definition of yoga which is union and interpreting that union not only as the union of body, mind and spirit but also the union of intention and action, search and discovery and the unity of bringing together like-hearted souls. In this way, yoga can become a way of being, a way of seeing the world within us and around us. Yoga can become a path of wellness, awareness, compassion and love for ourselves and others.

The Yogi Institute philosophy is that change must start within and yoga is a tool or a catalyst for such change. It can deliver us to a deeper understanding of ourselves and it is through that understanding or awareness that we can truly create sustainable, long-lasting, desired changes in our lives. These changes can be connected to our beliefs, perspectives, desires, values, relationships, careers AND bodies.

As your commitment to your daily practice deepens and yoga becomes a part of who you are, transformation will occur.

Message From The Founder & Lead Trainer

Jill Enticknap

500-Hour E-RYT & YACEP Yoga Alliance

Hello Beautiful Yogi’s!

I am so happy to welcome you to Yogi Institute! My name is Jill Enticknap. I am so happy to have you as a part of the Yogi Institute Community.

Yogi Institute is a space to discover and develop your inner yogi and what it means to BE and LIVE as a yogi. Yoga is so much more than yoga poses and stretching the physical body. It is a gateway to a deeper awareness and understanding of the mind-body connection and an opening to live from the heart.

Yoga has the power to heal and transform your life inside and out. The internal transformation is in connection with your thoughts, feelings and the way you perceive the world around you. The outer transformation is your interactions with the world, people, places and things.

To me yoga is simple, it is a form of self-love. I was first drawn to yoga because of a broken heart back in 2010. I was aware that I had some inner work to do and yoga supported me and continues to support me in my inner awareness.

As for training, I have a 200-Hour Power Yoga Teacher Training certificate from CorePower with a 50-hour extensions program which taught me the formula to teach yoga to anyBODY and supported me in finding and developing my teaching voice. I then continued on to my 300+++ Hour Teacher Training with Yoga Farm Ithaca which was a deep dive into the foundations of kundalini yoga, yoga for your enneagram, yoga from your feminine cycle, ayurvedic nutrition and the radiance keys. I have a 60-Hour Yin Yoga Certification from BodSphere and have taken multiple continued education courses from Bernie Clark through Yoga International. The combination and completion of these courses, along with teaching over 2000 hours of yoga classes enabled me to create my own yoga teacher training program to certify teachers through Yoga Alliance. What better way to spread the love of yoga than to deepen others’ connection to yoga and create more yoga teachers?

A little bit more about me, I have been doing inner work for decades. My mom started exposing me to the work of Anthony Robins as early as age 10. This lead me to take my first transformational self-development course in 2002 when I was 18 years old and that was just the beginning. My passion for an inner understanding of myself and others has led me to create my own self-development training program called Discover The Real You. I have also explored and practiced many different healing modalities such as The Emotion Code, Reiki Level 2 Certification, Auyaska Healing Ceremonies, Anthony Robins Courses, Vipassana meditation silent retreat, Abraham Hicks Seminars and Yoga (to name just a few).

Self-awareness and transformation are the way I see and interact with the world inside and outside of myself. In all of my training and transformational experiences, yoga has been the most consistent and due to that fact, the most impactful. For me, yoga is a gateway into me, and the deeper that connection is, the deeper my connection to every other aspect of life is, whether it be mindfulness, presence, service, or following my intuition. Yoga has been an empowering and transformational tool for me, and I am passionate about sharing it with others. I want yoga to be physically, geographically and financially accessible to all, which is my mission with Yogi Institute. I believe my purpose is to teach and empower others to be their most authentic selves. Sometimes this takes re-programming, healing and support and yoga is a great tool. Yoga changes us in predictable and unpredictable ways. I have watched this happen in my own life and the lives of many of my students.

Please know that I am here for you, for your journey, your practice, your heart and you BEING a YOGI. I am so excited to share this journey with you!

The light in me sees, honours, reflects and encourages the light in you.

Namaste.

”True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.” ~ Aadil Palkhivala
